Whispering Gallery

Whispering Gallery is the quarterly magazine of the Dorothy Dunnett Society, published exclusively for Society members. Alongside news of the Society and the work of its volunteers, each issue features articles and ideas from readers exploring Dunnett’s characters and the themes of her books, the history and cultures that shaped their world, and the real places in which the action unfolds.

Contributions do not have to be long: we also enjoy sharing ‘squeaks’, those little moments in life that remind us of the world of Dorothy Dunnett. Professional historians contribute essays drawing on their research into the periods of the novels, while, with the permission of the Dunnett Estate, we delve into the wealth of material in the Dunnett archive to share previously unpublished talks, correspondence and research by Dorothy Dunnett herself.
