Whispering Gallery, Issue 140

£6.00

The September 2018 issue features an interview with David Monteath, the voiceover actor who is currently hard at work recording the audiobooks of The Lymond Chronicles. We have a short taster of the pilot script for the television series of The Game of Kings that is under consideration by the BBC, and we publish a poem written by author Guy Gavriel Kay for Dorothy Dunnett.

A reader investigates why the image and symbolism of the Wheel of Fortune, featured on the new cover of The Game of Kings, was considered appropriate to Lymond’s story, and we have the story of the altarpiece commissioned by Tommaso Portinari (as seen by Nicholas in Caprice and Rondo). Another member, an artist, writes a personal reflection on how The Lymond Chronicles influenced both her life and her art.

In addition the issue carries an article Dorothy Dunnett wrote for The Scotsman newspaper in 1988, a comparison of Dunnett’s novels and those of sci-fi writer Lois McMaster Bujold, and much more!
