Whispering Gallery, Issue 139

£6.00

This year’s Dunnett Weekend takes centre stage in the June issue of Whispering Gallery. We have an overview of the talk by Lindsey Davis alongside the generous tribute she wrote to Dorothy Dunnett in 2000, and we print in full the talk given by botanist Henk Beentje on the flora and fauna that feature in The Lymond Chronicles. We have a first-time visitor’s account of the Weekend, and photographs taken during our tour of the splendid Signet Library.

In addition, we take a look at three different versions of King Richard III – Shakespeare’s, Philippa Gregory’s and that of Dorothy Dunnett as portrayed in Gemini. We’ve the next instalment of the ongoing exploration of Dunnett’s papers at the archive in Boston, and a reader gives us his personal views on Jerott.
